KING OF SWING AS A YEARLING

In 2016 we sold this lovely yearling to Ray Green who's only gone on to win the 2020 Del Re A G Hunter Cup!

On his road to the Hunter Cup, KING OF SWING won seven, including a 2YO Breeders Crown final, for Ray before heading to Perth to unite with Gary Hall Snr. Wins came in quick succession in 2018 and his winnings sky rocketed past $600,000. Hiis form became muddled late in 2019, the decision to send him east for a fresh environment has paid dividends.

The #BreckonBred KING OF SWING has found a resurgence in form since joining the barn of Craig Cross.

The talented son of Group 1 winning mare TWIST AND TWIRL already had 19 wins to his name when he joined the Cross stable, but its been wins number 20 and 21 that have really made Australasia sit up and take notice of this NZ bred.

However impressive, his Group 3 win last week at Menangle in a sizzling mile rate of 1.48.7, wasn't enough to secure a start in the $500,000 A G Hunter Cup last night at Melton. Drawing 1st emergency, an anxious wait for connections ensued to see if the inform son of Rocknroll Hanover would get his chance to shine against Australasia's best.

Lady luck was on their side, with an 11th hour call up on Saturday morning.

Reunited with regular west coast driver Gary Hall Jnr, he was sent forward off the gate and dictated the terms. He held off a fast finishing Our Uncle Sam to claim victory by a head. He recorded a mile rate of 1.55 for the 2760m event.

We were already excited to have four Breckon Farms graduates in prestigious Hunter Cup, but for a #BreckonBred to win it, oh we're absolutely ecstatic!

Congratulations to the large contingent of owners, to Gary Hall Snr and Jnr, Craig Cross and their teams.
