March has started with a bang for Breckon Farms, with a series of impressive performances from our graduates and co-owned stars on both sides of the Tasman.

Leading the charge was Bet N Win, who made a stunning return to the track by claiming victory in the Gr.3 $40,000 Lamb And Hayward Classic. The Breckon Farms-bred and co-owned trotter proved his class once again, defeating the in-form One Over All. Co-trainer David White was thrilled with the performance, saying, “The fact he was able to beat One Over All, who has been one of the form trotters so far this year, is very heartening for us heading forward.”

With momentum on his side, Bet N Win now looks ahead to the Fred Shaw NZ Trotting Champs in two weeks before tackling the $600,000 TAB Trot at Cambridge – exciting times ahead!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our 2019 NZB Standardbred Yearling graduate, Illavabubbles, who was named the 2024 Club Menangle Horse of the Year! This exceptional mare, by Always B Miki out of Delightful Dale, has proven herself at the top level, and we’ll certainly raise a glass in her honour!

The action continued across the Tasman, with Major Hot (Hothooves) delivering a top performance in the Group 1 Chariots of Fire at Menangle, finishing third in the feature. It was fantastic to see the Breckon Farms bred and part-owned Group 1 winner showcasing his talent once again on one of Australasia’s biggest stages.

Back on home soil, High Energy (High Gait) put in a strong effort to place third in the Group 3 HR Fisken & Sons Northern Trotting Breeders Stakes HCP Trot.
Meanwhile, the ever-impressive Rubira (Delightful Kas) continued his winning ways, securing back-to-back victories at Alexandra Park. A $45,000 NZB Standardbred graduate, Rubira has now maintained a perfect two-from-two record in his three-year-old season.

It was also an encouraging debut for Navy Hill (Classic Armbro), who finished third in her first career start. Co-owned by Breckon Farms, this talented three-year-old filly has an exciting future ahead, and we can’t wait to see her progress.

March is shaping up to be a month to remember for Breckon Farms!
