LET’S PARTY AGAIN

Partyon Winning Again

The All Stars Stable of Mark Purdon & Natalie Rasmussen made the perfect start to their 2017 Brisbane winter carnival campaign on Saturday night (1st July) with victories in the Premiers Cup and Provincial Oaks, with their only two runners at Albion Park.

The stable lined up The More The Better and Partyon and both made successful starts to their Queensland campaigns.

The More The Better was victorious in the Group 3 $30,630 The Badcock Group 2017 Premiers Cup after being sent out a very warm order favourite, he scrambled away from the Standing Start, to be caught wide mid-field early, before getting in to the running line to be one-out-and-three-back when they settled. Inside the last mile driver Natalie Rasmussen took The More The Better forward quickly out three-wide and made the lead with a little over 1400m to run, resulting in a fast 28.7 second, first quarter of the last mile. From there The More The Better dominated from the front and went on for a decisive 10.9m victory, clocking quick closing sectionals of 56.3 for the last half and 27.5 for the quarter.

The More The Better is owned by Mark Purdon, his father Harness Racing Legend Roy Purdon and David Levene. He is by Bettor’s Delight out of Lucky Pocket and was bred in New Zealand by CN Radford, WE Radford and DE Richardson. The More The Better will start again this Saturday, the 8th July, once again at Albion Park, in the Group 3 $30,540 Egmont Park 2017 Provincial Derby, where despite drawing the inside of the Second Row he should be hard to beat again. He will then move on to his main Queensland target, the Group 2 $75,540 2017 Queensland Derby, on the 15th July, also at Albion Park.

The More The Better’s win in the Premiers Cup was the third for the All Stars stable after previous successes with Best Deal Yet in 2012 and Gentle Western in 2015.

Later in the programme, Partyon was to take out the Listed $25,540 2017 Egmont Park Provincial Oaks, being sent out as second favourite behind her Kiwi counterpart Delightful Memphis.

Natalie Rasmussen also took the reins on the star filly Partyon and was able to secure an early one-one, while Delightful Memphis sped to the lead as expected, but was soon after to be one-out-and-three-back as ex-Kiwi Shartin made an early move down the back the first time to go and sit parked. Approaching the 1200m Mark, Partyon came forward three wide to take over the parked position, as they went through a soft first quarter of the last mile in 31.7 seconds. Natalie was content to sit outside Delightful Memphis for the remainder of the journey and drove to the front as they headed for home, sizzling over the final half in 55.9 seconds and the quarter in 26.9 seconds, to go on for a powerful win.

It was great to see Partyon show a return to her sparkling early season form, to win against a very strong field in a good Mile Rate of 1:56.8 for the 2138m trip. This victory means she remains unbeaten in her Australian racing, making it seven-from-seven.

Partyon is raced by the Breckon Farms – The Top Ten Syndicate and is also by Bettor’s Delight. She is out of Beach Parade and was bred by Woodlands Stud Ltd.

Partyon is now set to race again also this Saturday at Albion Park, where she will contest the Group 2 $75,540 AQWA Constructions 2017 Queensland Oaks, a similar field to last week’s Provincial Oaks. She has drawn Barrier No.5 in an 8-horse field and must rate highly to achieve the Oaks double.

The All Stars Stable won the Oaks double two years ago with Fight For Glory.

For good measure, the Breckon Farms – The Top Ten Syndicate also had another winner over the weekend, at Alexandra Park the night before Partyon’s Provincial Oaks win. This was with the 3-year-old filly Moving Money, having just her fourth start; she became the Syndicate’s sixth individual winner.

The Breckon Farms – The Top Ten Syndicate now has an amazing record of 55 starts, for 20 wins, 4 seconds and 6 thirds, for stake earnings of $611,719. This is an incredible 54.5% of starts in the money of all race starts to date and continues the remarkable record of each of the Breckon Farms Syndicates so far established. They have achieved nine Group 1 wins to date and are looking to build on this in the near future.

May the party continue !!!
